Program Summary:

The Career and Placement Center (CPC) of North South University, in collaboration with City Bank, organized an engaging session titled "Focus Group Discussion" for students on 29th May 2023 at the university's syndicate hall. The event aimed to provide a platform for students to explore various aspects of career development and gain insights from industry professionals.

The session commenced with an inauguration speech by Professor Mohammad Khasro Miah, Director of the Career and Placement Center (CPC). Professor Miah delivered a warm welcome address, setting the stage for an interactive and thought-provoking discussion.

Structured as a Focus Group Discussion (FGD), the session incorporated a series of prepared questions to stimulate meaningful dialogue among the participants. Additionally, students were encouraged to contribute their thoughts and provide valuable feedback on topics such as work culture, organizational values & brand, leadership, line management, HR proposition, recruitment, and more. The Recruitment & MIS Team, in collaboration with the Head of HR from City Bank Ltd, took on the role of facilitators during the discussion.

The session featured speeches by Professor Mohammad Khasro Miah Director of the Career and Placement Center (CPC), and Mohammad Shafiul Islam, Senior Manager, of HR MIS & Recruitment, City Bank who shared their insights and motivated the students. Their speeches provided valuable perspectives on navigating the professional world and seizing opportunities for growth and success.

Students from the School of Business and Economics (SBE), Department of Finance, Marketing, Economics, and Management, participated in this exclusive session. The students were chosen based on their academic achievements and demonstrated potential for future leadership roles.

Professor Mohammad Khasro delivered an inspiring speech and addressed students' inquiries with utmost clarity and insight. A representative team from City Bank including Samiha Sanjana, Manager of Recruitment & MIS. Lamia Tabassum Guria, Assistant Manager of the Recruitment Process, and Arif Al Zahin, Officer of, the Recruitment Process encouraged meaningful discussions and facilitated productive learning experiences for all participants. At the end of the session, students who participated in the discussion on behalf of City Bank were awarded certificates.
