Professor Dr. Md. Taufiqul Islam (Mithil)

It is a great privilege for North South University students to have Dr. Md. Taufiqul Islam (Mithil) as the Director of the Career and Placement Center (CPC). He holds an exceptional academic background: bachelor's and master's degrees from Jahangirnagar University, a second master’s from Shimane University, Japan (2002) under a Japanese government scholarship, and a Ph.D. from Tottori University, Japan (2005). He further enriched his expertise through a postdoctoral fellowship at Kobe Gakuin University (2006–07) and a JSPS fellowship at Kyoto University (2007–09). In 2011, he was also selected as a U.S. Department of State Fellow. Dr. Taufiqul brings over 16 years of experience in teaching, leadership, and institutional development.
Beyond CPC, Dr. Md. Taufiqul Islam holds significant leadership roles, serving as President of the Private University Teachers’ Association of Bangladesh, President of the Governing Body of Habibullah Bahar University College, and a member of the PKSF Governing Body. A dedicated academic, he has published in esteemed journals and has served as Cultural Secretary of the Japanese Universities Alumni Association in Bangladesh (JUAAB) since 2022. Dr. Taufiqul is the founding member of the Board of Trustees of the University of Brahmanbaria and the founder of ADARE ALO, a non-profit organization based in Brahmanbaria. He is also a life member of the JSPS Alumni Association in Bangladesh.
Under his guidance, CPC plays a critical role in student advancement – facilitating internships, job placements, career fairs, and training workshops. Dr. Islam firmly believes that overseas degrees, research, and intercultural communication experiences are essential elements for success in both Bangladeshi and international communities. With his global exposure, strategic insight, and diverse experience, Dr. Md. Taufiqul Islam is helping NSU students build purposeful, skill-driven careers in an increasingly competitive world.


Ismat Jahan Orin

Ismat Jahan joined North South University in January 2025 as an Officer at the Career and Placement Center (CPC). She holds both her undergraduate and postgraduate degrees from North South University and brings over nine years of experience in Human Resources, specializing in recruitment and selection.
She began her career at ZMT Estate Limited, developing strong HR foundations, and later joined The Limit Agro Products Limited, a well-known name in Bangladesh’s pesticide industry. There, she played a vital role in improving recruitment strategies and enhancing internal HR operations. Her exposure to diverse organizations has shaped her deep understanding of both traditional and modern HR practices, including talent acquisition, employee engagement, and organizational development.
Beyond her professional work, Ismat is a passionate freelance writer, publishing thought pieces inspired by her real-life HR experiences. Her writing bridges academic knowledge and practical insights, guiding aspiring HR professionals and job seekers alike.
At CPC, Ismat not only oversees the center’s daily operations, ensuring smooth workflow and efficient service, but also builds strong industry-academic linkages, conducts corporate outreach, and provides valuable career guidance. She works closely with employers to identify talent needs and organizes impactful programs to prepare students for a competitive job market. She is also responsible for arranging the National Career Fair, creating vital opportunities for students to connect with top employers.
Ismat remains committed to empowering young professionals and believes in creating meaningful bridges between education and employment through thoughtful HR practices.


Shorifa Tuz Jahan

Ms. Shorifa Tuz Jahan has been serving as an Assistant Officer at the Career and Placement Center (CPC) since 2019. She holds a Bachelor's degree in English with the distinction of Cum Laude from the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB) and has completed her Master of Business Administration (MBA) from North South University.
In her role at CPC, Ms. Shorifa is actively involved in drafting official content and supporting a wide range of departmental activities. Her core responsibilities include organizing programs and seminars, coordinating all aspects of events from planning to execution, and overseeing the implementation and progress tracking of key initiatives such as the B-JET and B-MEET programs. She also provides comprehensive support to students by addressing their inquiries and guiding them through internship procedures and job placement processes.
Ms. Shorifa has consistently demonstrated exceptional organizational skills and a strong work ethic. She played a key role in organizing the National Career Fair, offered dedicated assistance during CPC’s Jubilee Celebration in 2022, and contributed significantly to the successful execution of the Fourth Industrial Revolution Skills Summit in 2023. Her professionalism and dedication have been vital to the success of these major events.


Adiba Ibnat Bushra

Ms. Adiba Ibnat Bushra, graduated from North South University with a BBA and is pursuing an MBA from North South University, possesses diverse experience several consultancy firms from 2022 to 2024 Her background includes roles Rangs VTS Department, Trip Factory, Nagad (Accounts), NTV as Program Assistant Manager, Machranga TV and Banglavision as an Anchor. She has experience as several lead Drama Artist. She is Co-author of a Poetry book named Opshora O Dakpion. She is a Sketch, Acrylic and Oil Color artist as a creative painter(potrait; abstract exibition), former Banner & Cover page Model of Shadakalo, Dimond World , former journalist. Currently, as Department Secretary at the Career and Placement Center (CPC), she manages programs (e.g., Excel Bootcamp), handles office administration of entire department like petty cash , Inter Office Memos, and handles inter-departmental correspondence, assists the Director, organizes meetings/events, and facilitates student queries , issues forwarding letter & job placement documentation.


Abdul Ahad

Abdul Ahad is an accomplished and inspiring individual with a proven track record of strong leadership skills and a deep passion for research in artificial intelligence. He is a dedicated professional with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from North South University, where he also excelled as the IEEE NSU Student Branch Secretary.
At CPC, he began his journey as a student employee in December 2022 and later progressed to a Guest Employee, where he managed technical support, data handling, content creation, corporate database management and coordination with Japanese delegates for the B-JET & B-MEET programs. Currently serving as an Assistant Officer at the Career and Placement Center (CPC), Mr. Ahad leads corporate engagement initiatives, contributes to the enhancement of a dynamic job portal, and coordinates high-impact recruitment events for leading organizations such as Grameenphone, bKash, Augmedix, and Marico. His exceptional multitasking and problem-solving skills make him an indispensable member of the CPC team. He also oversees the technical operations of the B-JET program and is skilled in drafting official documents, managing social media content, and producing promotional materials.
Ahad is a proactive team player with a talent for solving complex problems under pressure, committed to continuous learning and impactful innovation in AI and computer science.


Mohammad Salim

Mohammad Salim joined North South University on 30th January, 2000. Since then, he has been assisting the Career and Placement Center as an office support staff. Mr. Salim completed his Bachelor of Arts from the Open University. He has recently been promoted to Record Assistant and in charge of filling and recording all the incoming and outgoing documents such as memo, notice, job circulars and internship records. Apart from the daily activities of the department, Mr. Salim also supports CPC regarding events such as seminars, workshop, road shows and boot camps.


Abdul Jalil Molla

Abdul Jalil Mollah has been assisting the Career and Placement Center as an office support staff since 2015. Mr. Jalil is in charge of assisting CPC with documentation, day to day official tasks and event management. As a part of his job responsibility, Mr. Jalil works as a core team member during national events such as seminars, road shows and career fairs.

Ayesha Akter has been a dedicated member of the Career and Placement Center team since 2025, serving in the role of Office Support Staff. She plays an essential role in managing daily administrative tasks, maintaining office documentation, and supporting the smooth execution of CPC events. Her proactive involvement and dependable presence make her a key contributor to the CPC team, especially during major events such as seminars, roadshows, and career fairs.
