B-JET : Bangladesh–Japan ICT Engineers’ Training Program

The Bangladesh–Japan ICT Engineers’ Training Program (B-JET) is a flagship initiative aimed at preparing Bangladeshi graduates for global career opportunities, with a strong focus on employment in the Japanese ICT sector. The Career and Placement Center (CPC) of North South University (NSU) became the first university to launch a dedicated B-JET Center in 2021 in campus, making the program accessible to students from NSU as well as other universities.

This program equips young Bangladeshi ICT engineers with essential skills to thrive in Japan by providing comprehensive training in the Japanese language, culture, and business etiquette. It also plays a significant role in strengthening bilateral relations by addressing skilled manpower shortages in Japan’s IT industry while creating high-quality employment opportunities for Bangladeshi graduates.

B-JET was initiated by the Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) in collaboration with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). Under the leadership of CPC at NSU, the program offers a structured pathway that combines technical skill development, Japanese language proficiency, and professional preparation to produce internationally competitive ICT professionals.

To date, 15 batches have been successfully completed across three phases. B-JET’s key achievements from 2017 to 2025 include training over 400+ graduates, with more than 250+ successfully employed by Japanese companies, and active collaboration with around 80 Japanese companies.

By bridging the skills gap and developing industry-ready talent, B-JET empowers Bangladeshi ICT professionals to succeed globally while strengthening economic and technological ties between Bangladesh and Japan. Through this initiative, the Career Placement Center (CPC) at NSU continues to play a key role in shaping globally competitive professionals.
